I've said a lot of prayers over you
asking God that you'd be part of my happiness.
Sometimes one of the little ones got answered.
My soul got to sing, standing next to a friend,
conversations have gotten longer and more relaxed
and even when I risked asking you for more
your friendship remained.

My prayers are different now.
I never thought I'd pray to be over you
but that's a strong one in my heart
I never realized settling my feelings for you
would be so painful.

I'm glad you won't be here for a little while.
You don't deserve this anger,
and right now looking in your eyes will bring
both anger and hurt.

So my prayers this time are to ask
that I can settle these feelings
before I face you again
anb accept what cannot be changed.
